  1. I really like these ideas. I agree with you that students should build a sense of community. In a scenario where its "every man for himself", it is difficult to feel like part of a team. Being part of a team supports accountability not only for yourself but for others success as well. I love your motivational quotes/images. I think it is important to start each day with a smile and a great welcome. It really sets the tone for the rest of the day. Having students walk in tired, unmotivated, and in a negative mood can really bring the energy of the entire class down, making for an even longer school day. Thank you for sharing!

  2. Tracie, I really like your ideas. I think all students love the idea that they get to collect points based on their behavior and then choose what they get from those points. I also like how you said that you will always have a smile on your face even on the toughest days. That is something that all teachers need to try and do because our attitudes reflect on the students. Great Job!

  3. I also think a smile is important. The teacher's attitude is reflected into their students. If a teacher is having a bad day she shouldn't let the children see because a bad attitude is contagious. I liked the way you organized you pictures and made your blog visually appealing !

  4. Love your presentation and your quotes! The one about having a smile on our faces even on roughest days hit home with me. I had a bad day today, and I am ashamed to say I lost my smile! I need to work on that. Also, love your treasure box idea. Kids love picking out their own prizes.
